Our client is a fast-growing Dutch start-up that develops innovative AI solutions for the healthcare sector. They develop proprietary AI models / LLMs for this, which run on their own HPC/AI optimized servers. To further develop and grow their SaaS solution, they're looking for an ace Java Software Engineer to join their team.
This position does not offer work permit /visa sponsorship and is therefore only open to candidates with EU/EEA country citizenship, or otherwise not in need of sponsorship. Thanks for your understanding.
The role
As a Lead / Senior Software Engineer you will work in a small team, being responsible for scaling and expanding the SaaS platform and (data) connectivity capabilities. You will take ownership of development projects. The focus will mainly be on backend. You can contribute on strategic level and by leading a (future) team. More details:
- Developing and improving a scalable, future-proof system, prepared for further growth
- Developing new features in the backend
- Expanding the API and integrations with partners
- Integrating new features in the frontend
- Short iterations, rapid deployment, diversity in projects
What's asked
Must haves:
- A minimum of 8 years of software development experience with Java
- You have at least 2 years experience in top-tier SW teams, at an organization known for it's high performance engineering tribe.
- Some experience on the front-end side
- Experience with Git (Ops)
- You're able to take ownership and initiative
- You have experience with, or the potential to, lead and grow a team
- You're interested in developing solutions with a positive impact on society
- You're looking for a small, close-knit team in a start/scale-up environment
- You are pragmatic, hands-on and will not get stuck in over-analyzing problems
- Fluent in English and open to work in a company with mainly Dutch colleagues
- You don't need work permit/visa sponsorship and you already live in The Netherlands or will move here in any case, independent from the job offer.
Nice to have:
- Experience in a high-performance computing environment (i.e. Nvidia DGX B200)
- Experience with LLM's / AI-models
- Experience with Kubernetes & Docker
- Experience with DevOps in an on-prem, no-cloud Linux environment
